Ed and Martin Leenders are in the business of quality and durability – the two key things that they looks for in the superior outdoors, hunting and safety footwear range that they source and supply into New Zealanders.
So, when the Grisport Footwear team identified that they needed an online presence to support and grow their business, it was quality and durability that they also looked for in a web agency.
The key objectives Grisport Footwear had for their new website were to:
- Educate consumers by finding a way to make it easy for users to discover the unique features Grisport's footwear ranges offer.
- Emphasie the long term savings of investing in durable footwear.
- Separate out their indoor and adventure ranges from the Safety range.
- Make it easy for regional consumer enquiries to be automatically forwarded onto the Grisport stockists throughout New Zealand.
- Allow consumers to register for their footwear warranties online.
A website that educates, sells and supports...
Grisport's target markets are those who have a passion for the outdoors, and the amazing scenery that New Zealand has to offer. For this reason, the Grisport team asked that the website design showcase their products in use, in such scenery – resulting in the beautiful background images on each page.
At the same time, Xplore set about ensuring that Grisport's product range could easily be reviewed by users by providing:
- A visual category overview.
- Product pages that allow the user to view up to 4 images of each shoe (e.g. side view, sole, etc).
- Product pages that highlight the special features of each shoe and click-thru to more detailed information.
- An easy click-thru of "where to buy" the various products – especially important, as the website was setup to support Grisport retailers, not compete with them.
An online warranty registration form was also setup and a custom enquiry form automatically redirects enquires to the correct region, based on the contact details the user enters.
The result is a website that educates the public, supports retailers and builds even greater credibility for the Grisport brand.

The Grisport website utlises the following Xplore Xtools CMS modules:
- Xsite - content management system
- Xpanels - rotating image panels
- Xmembers - member logins
- Xmail - permission based email marketing system
- Xshop - product catalogue system
- Xclusive – a custom online warranty registration and contract form.
The above tools provide Grisport with the ability to manage all aspects of their website (and online product catalogue) themselves.
